RICHMOND, Ind. - Marcus Isaac scored 28 points as the Indiana University East men's
basketball team held off Goshen College 82-77 on Dec. 18 at the Richmond High School
Tiernan Center.
The Red Wolves improved to 8-4. Goshen is 7-5.
IU East went on a 13-4 run to go ahead 74-66 after Goshen had erased a 15-point Red
Wolves lead. IU East led by at least four the rest of the way.
"We got tested and we responded, so that was a good thing," said IU East coach Mark
Hester.
Isaac now need 10 more points to reach 1,000 for his IU East career after matching
his season high.
"My teammates were supportive of me," Isaac said. "I've been struggling the last
couple of games, but my teammates had confidence in me, and that allows me to play
like that."
The Red Wolves survived 22 turnovers and an off night from 3-point range by holding
the Maple Leafs to 37 percent shooting. Goshen entered the game as one of the top
shooting teams in the NAIA.
"It was communication," Isaac said. "We had our lapses, but for the most part we had
good communication and people knew where to be."
Huston Clark posted his sixth double-double of the year with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Jerron Jamerson led Goshen with 28 points.
IU East hosts Michigan-Dearborn on Dec. 22 at the Tiernan Center. Tipoff time has
been moved to 2 p.m.
