RED WOLVES ADVANCE

DAYTON, Ohio - The Indiana University East women's tennis team reached the Kentucky
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament semifinals with a 5-3 win against
Saint Louis College of Pharmacy on Oct. 26.
The nine-team conference tournament was moved indoors to Dayton Center Courts due to
inclement weather in the Richmond area.
The No. 4 seed Red Wolves improved to 6-10. The No. 5 seed Eutectics finished 4-5.
IU East faces reigning KIAC champion and No. 1 seed Indiana University Southeast
(10-5) at 9 a.m. in the semifinal round on Oct. 27. The championship match is at 1
p.m.
The semifinals and finals are scheduled for Glen Miller Park, but will be played at
Dayton Center Courts in the event of inclement weather.
Redshirt junior No. 1 singles player Paige Froman (Rushville, Ind./Ball State
University) and junior No. 2 singles player Cheltsi Hinners (Centerville,
Ind./Centerville High School) both won in singles and teamed up for a win at No. 1
doubles.
Freshman No. 4 singles player Chelsea Helms (Centerville, Ind./Centerville High
School) won her match to clinch the team win for IU East.
This is IU East's first opportunity to host the KIAC tournament.
