2011 Inspireum Football Awards

December 21, 2011
High School Inspireum Football Awards

CELEBRATE CHARACTER, COURAGE, CONTRIBUTION & COMMITMENT IN TODAY’S YOUNG ATHLETES

The Inspireum Football Awards celebrate outstanding young athletes - not because of their statistical performance, but because of their ability to inspire teammates, classmates and communities. Each year, hundreds of football players nationwide are nominated by coaches, parents and teammates for this prestigious award, generating millions of votes from fans across the country.

The Inspireum Football Awards celebrate inspirational young athletes who embody the values of character, courage, contribution and commitment through the sport of football.  Recognizing and rewarding these outstanding players inspires other youth to pursue sports as a positive, action-oriented path to self-discipline, leadership, strong academic performance and a healthy lifestyle.

Your opportunity to celebrate and reward your student-athlete is right around the corner.  Just tell us how the inspirational player on your high school team brings outstanding character, courage, contribution and commitment to the game.  Nominations open September 15, 2011, and can be completed online at www.highschoolrudyawards.com.

$25,000 in academic scholarships will be awarded by Trusted Sports Foundation to the twelve finalists.  A national Selection Committee along with a fan vote chooses the scholarship recipients and final Inspireum Football Awards Winner. The nation's most inspirational player will receive an $7,500 scholarship.

Inspireum™ operates The Inspireum Football Awards in partnership with Trusted Sports Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity focused on removing barriers that prevent youth from participating in sports to get and keep kids in the game.

InspireumTM and Trusted Sports Foundation work in partnership to inspire young athletes to live up to their full potential through positive sports experiences that form active, healthy habits for a lifetime.

Despite the multitude of physical, mental and social benefits attributed to youth sports involvement, opportunities for youth to participate in athletics are in serious decline.

  • 62% of kids ages 9-13 do not participate in any organized physical activity during non-school hours.
  • 75% of these kids don’t play because they can’t afford registration fees and equipment.
  • Of those that do play, over 70% drop out by age 13 (National Alliance for Youth Sports, 2002)

The last academic year (2009-2010) saw over $2 billion eliminated from after-school sports programs in public schools around the US.

Youth sports are a critical positive developmental tool for the next generation of Americans.  Kids involved in sports programs have better social skills, better academic performance, and higher levels of physical activity throughout life.  Athletics also has the potential to reverse alarming trends in teenage pregnancy, juvenile delinquency and underage drug use.

Join InspireumTM and Trusted Sports Foundation in providing financial assistance to low-income, underserved youth that enables them to reap the benefits of positive sports experiences and get on track to a healthy lifestyle.
