Team Indiana Wins 29th Annual Mid-States All-Star Meet

INDIANAPOLIS – Team Indiana won 35 individual and relay events on the way to first place finish in the 29th Annual Mid-States Championships January 5-6, 2013 at the IUPUI Natatorium. Team Indiana scored 3897.50 pts to second place
Team Ohio’s 3494.50 pts.
 
Team Indiana was led by six time event winner Hannah Kukurugya who won the 100 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 200 & 400 Individual Medleys as well as the 100 & 200 Butterfly events in the 13-14 Girl’s Division.  Drew Kibler also from Team Indiana was a four event winner in the 11-12 Boy’s division with first place finishes in the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle events and 50 Backstroke.
 
17 Individual and 7 relay records were broken over the 2 day competition. Six individual meet record events were broken by Team Indiana members.  On the Boy’s side, Drew Kibler broke the 11-12 Boy’s 50 Backstroke Record (27.02) as well as the 11-12 200 Freestyle Record (1:52.59).  Jaegar Loran broke the 11-12 Boy’s 50 Butterfly Record (26.09), and Michael Brinegar broke the 13-14 Boy’s
1650 Freestyle record (16:38.64)
 
Also, breaking records for Team Indiana in the 13-14 Girl’s age group were Lauryn Parrish in the 200 Freestyle (1:53.26) and Hannah Kukurugya in the
200 Butterfly (2:03.94)
