Doc Elko's "Baseball Firsts"

October 9, 2014
By Brian Wujcik of Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association General Meeting Location

Welcome to Doc Elko's "BASEBALL'S FIRSTS."  Every couple of weeks, Doc will challenge you with his vast knowledge of baseball trivia.  Answer the question correctly and win a prize.  Doc's next question:

Which team started all rookies in one game?  Name the team, the year, and the one rookie of the nine on that team who made it to the Hall of Fame.

E-mail Doc with your answer.  He'll tell you if you're right, and tell you what you've won.

Last month's question:

After hitting his 100th home run, one player did something special.  Name the player, his team, and what he did.

Jimmy Piersall ran around the bases backward after hitting his 100th career home run for the New York Mets on June 23, 1963.
