Doc Elko's "Baseball Firsts"

November 17, 2014
By Brian Wujcik of Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association General Meeting Location

Welcome to Doc Elko's "BASEBALL'S FIRSTS."  Every couple of weeks, Doc will challenge you with his vast knowledge of baseball trivia.  Answer the question correctly and win a prize.  Doc's next question:

What former Major Leaguer married a Playboy Bunny?  What team did he play for and how many home runs did he hit in his career?  Hint: he used a hair dryer in the locker room.

E-mail Doc with your answer.  He'll tell you if you're right, and tell you what you've won.

Last month's question:

Which team started all rookies in one game?  Name the team, the year, and the one rookie of the nine on that team who made it to the Hall of Fame.

In 1962 the Houston Colt 45's started 9 rookies in one game.  Joe Morgan was the Hall of Famer.
