Offline Video Recording for Later UploadHow to record video projects for later upload to iHigh.TVThere are many instances where doing a Live Stream broadcast is not an option. You may have no internet connection, may be restricted from doing a Broadcast live, or a number of other issues. By utilizing the following Offline Recording Process, you will be able to record the event live and then upload for a delayed broadcast. Step by Step Process
Step 1 – Opening and using Windows Media EncoderWhen you downloaded and installed your iHigh.TV Live Streaming software, another piece of software called Windows Media Encoder (WME) was also installed. This software is the engine that drives your live streaming. The WME will also provide you with the ability to record a game to your laptop and upload it to your iHigh.TV Live Stream Account as an Archived Broadcast. This tutorial will provide the step by step process to do this. ![]() To locate the WME, go to Start then All Programs and look for the Folder titled “Windows Media”. Open that folder and you will see the icon for the WME as shown below. ![]() Step 2 – Select the Broadcast TypeMake sure your video camera and audio equipment are attached and powered on. Then, after double-clicking on the WME a New Session window comes up. Select “Broadcast a live event” and click OK. ![]() Step 3 – Device Options for New SessionSelect the same Video and Audio Devices you would use for a typical live broadcast. Click Next. ![]() Step 4 – Broadcast MethodFor Broadcast Method select “Pull from the encoder” and then click Next ![]() Step 5 – Selecting Broadcast ConnectionSince the WME is being utilized for an OFFLINE recording, the broadcast connection is not important. Leave the defaults and select Next to proceed. ![]() Step 6 – Encoding OptionsFor Encoding Options, once again leave it on the default settings and click Next. ![]() Step 7 – Archiving the File – VERY IMPORTANTThis is one of the most important steps in the process as this is how you save the broadcast output. Check the “Archive a copy” box and then Browse to the location you want the file saved, name the file and then click Next. ![]() Step 8 – Finish the Setup ProcessOnce the next window pops up, go ahead and select Finish. This will complete the setup portion of your OFFLINE broadcast. ![]() Step 9 – Start EncodingThe WME screen will now appear. It will look similar to the one from a live broadcast . The live feed should now be seen in the Input box. At this point, click on Start Encoding to begin recording. ![]() Step 10 – Record the EventYour event should now be recording. You should see video in the box and the audio bar on the left should be showing movement. Continue recording until the end of the event. ![]() Step 11 – Ending the EncodingWhen the event is completed, click on the Stop button to end the encoding process. As soon as you hit stop, your file will be archived instantly. Step 12 – Upload the FileAs soon as you have a good internet connection, you may then follow the process in the "Offline Broadcast" Tutorial to get the broadcast uploaded and broadcasting.
