iHigh.com School SettingsExplaining the options in your School Settings menuThis tutorial will go over each of the options listed in the School Settings menu on your iHigh.com site. School NameThis is the full name of your school. This text is also used throughout iHigh.com to reference your site when an article, photo, or video is posted. ![]() School AddressThis is the street address of your school. This address is also used on your home page right column Location widget, powered by Google Maps. ![]() School CityThis is the city in which your school is located. This is also used on your home page right column Location widget, powered by Google Maps. ![]() By default, new users becomeThis is your default access level given to iHigh.com users that sign up to this school. Choose Affiliates if you want users to be read-only, and Contributors if you want them to be able to add content to this school site. ![]() Articles displayed on home pageThis is the maximum number of articles you want to display on this school's iHigh.com home page. You may choose any number between 4 and 25. ![]() School Merchandise ModuleThis is your preferred merchandise vendor. The selected vendor's widget will show up in your iHigh.com school home page's right column. If you wish, you can disable the vendor widget altogether. You can choose between the following options: Rotate Vendors: Will rotate between Prep Sportswear and Field House Prep Sportswear: Displays only the Prep Sportswear Merchandise graphic Field House: Displays only the Field House Merchandise graphic Disabled: The School Merchandise Module will not appear on your home page ![]() Athlete display blockThis allows you to disable/enable the right column Athlete Block on your school's iHigh.com home page. ![]() Media and Article CommentsThis allows you to disable/enable the ability of users to comment on articles, photo galleries, video clips, and video/audio broadcasts. ![]() Viewers Can Skip Broadcast Pre-rollThis allows you to disable/enable the ability to skip the school's custom pre-roll on broadcasts. ![]() Broadcast ChatThis allows you to disable/enable the ability of users to chat during live video/audio broadcasts. The chat window will show up in the right column of broadcasts while they are live. ![]() Google News ListingThis is allows you to disable/enable the Google news feed on your iHigh.com school home page. The Google news feed continually associates all news articles that are found (via Google News) regarding your school, and displays them on your iHigh.com school home page. Each news article is linked to the originating media partners website for full text viewing. ![]() Left Media Links On TopThis allows you to choose the location of your static iHigh.com media links (on your site's left navigation bar). Enabled displays the media section of navigation above everything else, Disabled displays it below everything else. ![]() Open Block in Middle ColumnThis allows you to enable the middle column open content block on your iHigh.com school home page. Once enabled, you can Edit the content of the open block from your home page. If disabled, there will not be middle column open content block. ![]() Right-Click on Large PhotosThis allows you to disable/enable the ability to right-click on photo gallery images. If disabled, users will not be able to right-click and download photos. If enabled, users will be able to. Note: This does not absolutely remove the possibility of someone capturing your photo content. ![]() Left Games MenuThis allows you to disable/enable the Games menu from your iHigh.com school site's left navigation bar. iHigh.com occasionally launches competitive online games for fun and/or prizes. Feel free to disable this menu feature if you prefer your site not be associated with these games. ![]() Home Page Module OrderThis is your iHigh.com school home page middle column module display order. Select which module you would like to move up/down, then click on the Move Up or Move Down button to move that item up or down the list. ![]() Right Column Module OrderThis is your iHigh.com school home page right column module display order. Select which module you would like to move up/down, then click on the Move Up or Move Down button to move that item up or down the list. ![]() Countdown Widget ConfigurationThe iHigh.com technical staff recently added a Countdown Widget in your School Settings tools. The Countdown Widget is an easy and eye-catching way to promote an important upcoming event at your school or organization. The Widget is incredibly simple to set up with only three easy steps.
Step 1 – Enter your Countdown text First, you must login to your school site with your Adminstrator login information. Then click on "School Settings" in the Administrator Menu. ![]() Scroll down to the "Countdown Widget Configuration" section. First, we'll look at the "Countdown Text" entry field. This is your countdown module text. Once populated, a countdown module will display on your school's iHigh.com home page, with this as the event you are counting down to. Example: Football Kickoff! ![]() Step 2 – Enter the time of the event This is your cowntdown module time. Once populated, a countdown module will display on your school's iHigh.com home page, with this as the time you are counting down to. Example: August 7, 2010 17:30 Note: The date/time must be in the above format, with the time being in 24 hour format. ![]() Step 3 – Enter the URL you want to direct your fans toward This is your cowntdown module URL. Once populated, a countdown module will display on your school's iHigh.com home page, with this as the URL that users will be directed to if they click on the countdown text, such as an article previewing the event, or the live broadcast of the event. Example: http://yourschool.ihigh.com Note: The URL must be a fully qualified URL, with http:// in front of the web site address. ![]() Now scroll down to the "Save Settings" section and just click on "Save." ![]() You will then be redirected to your home page, and you will now see the Countdown Widget on the right side of the page. ![]() External Site IntegrationGoogle Analytics Code This is your Google Analytics ID Code. From the Google Analytics site, when provided the full javascript include, simply find the ID number (example: UA-18073065-1) and copy/paste it here. iHigh.com will then report site traffic to your own Google Analytics account. ![]() Twitter Username for Twitter Feed This is your Twitter Username. Once you have populated this field,twitter module will show up on your home page's right column.
