Home » Football NewsKaty Center Aaron Sowell Verbally Commits to Sam Houston StateJanuary 21, 2013 By Doug Johnson of The GrindKaty's list of division 1 college commitments for the 2013 football season continues to grow and the team room at the Katy field house is going to be full on February 6, 2013 National Signing Day for college recruits. Aaron Sowell who was one of the best lineman to ever play for Katy started in the 2010 playoffs as an offensive guard. In 2011 Sowell sat our due to a torn shoulder. Sowell's senior year started out like a dream season as he moved to center and was performing like an all district lineman should when he was hit with a block that ended his season early. Sowell's injury forced him to sit out both the playoffs and State Championship game after having knee surgery. It's kind of ironic that Sowell had to have knee surgery as his best friend Adam Taylor who also sat out his junior year and also with a knee surgery. After the season ended for the Tigers the offers from many local schools came rushing in for Sowell who chose Sam Houston State in Huntsville. "I chose Sam" Sowell said, "because of the chance to start early and the opportunity to win another Championship helped me with my descion to go there" Here is a link to Aaron's highlight video: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/484222/highlights/17209374 Other Tigers who have made verbal commitments for the 2013 season are: Adam Taylor RB to Nebraska Matt Dimon DE to Oklahoma Isaiah Brown C to Tulsa Kyle Fulks WR/DB to Baylor
