Base ROYAL CLASSIC: Perry Meridian trips up host Hamilton SE, 4-3

Perry Meridian plated three runs in the top of the first, added another one in the second, then held on for dear life April 6 as the Falcons pulled out a 4-3 victory against host Hamilton Southeastern in the four-team Royal Classic.
Seniors Griffin Ball and Cody House each went 2 for 3 – the former smacking two doubles and driving in a run, the latter collecting two RBIs – as the Falcons outhit Southeastern 8-5. Junior Jordan Tackett allowed no hits in surrendering two runs (both earned) while walking four and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings, while Miller gave up five hits and one earned run while walking zero with one strikeout in 2 2/3 innings.
Taylor Hackett took the loss for HSE, giving up four runs (all earned) while walking two and striking out three in 1 2/3 innings. Tre Gantt (2 for 4 with a double and one run scored) and Wes Edrington (1 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs) were the offensive standouts for the Royals (4-2).
