Two Finance Academy Students Place in the Junior Achievement's Business Plan Challenge

April 9, 2014
By J Armstead of Hoover High School

From Academy of Finance Teacher Lisa Smith:

Thank you to everyone who voted for our Finance Academy students’ commercials over the last week!  As you know, Jake Callahan, Jenna Osczepinski, Will Clifton and Shaina Cadet presented their business plans to judges (business people) in Junior Achievement’s Business Plan Challenge Scholarship Competition.  Yesterday, Jake Callahan was awarded the 3rd Place scholarship of $500 for his business, Dress Better.  Shaina Cadet was awarded the 2nd Place prize of $1,500 for her business, Haute Lacquer.  All four students have been invited to the Spirit of Free Enterprise luncheon downtown on April 30 where they will network with presidents and CEOs of major businesses in Alabama including Golden Flake, Regions, Alabama Power, Vulcan Materials and many more.
