BALL STATE: Men's Volleyball Alumni To Play Professionally

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Three recent Ball State men’s volleyball alumni, Graham McIlvaine (2011-14), Kevin Owens(2011-14) and Jamion Hartley(2010-13), have signed professional contracts to continue their play careers overseas.
In addition, McIlvaine has made the roster for USA Volleyball’s IX Men’s Pan American Cup Team, while Hartley is currently playing for the Jamaican National Team.
“I feel a great deal of pride seeing our student-athletes continue their volleyball careers after finishing their playing days at Ball State,” head coach Joel Walton said. “Graham, Jamion and Kevin all had stellar careers for Ball State. I am confident the teams they play for this winter will value the high-level of play and athleticism each of the three bring to the court. I am excited to watch each player’s progress this season and into the future.”
Ball State’s starting setter for the past four seasons (2011-14), McIlvaine recently signed a contract to play in Denmark with the Boldklubben Marienlyst Volleyball Club. He also starts international competition for Team USA next week at the IX Men’s Pan American Volleyball Cup which takes place Aug. 11-16 in Tijuana, Mexico.
Hartley, who earned four letters for the Cardinals as an outside attacker from 2010-13, is in his second season playing professionally in Cyprus. This season, he signed a contract to play for the Paphiakos Syllogos Athlopedion volleyball team. As a member of the Jamaican National Team, Hartley is currently competing with the team in the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association Championships.
Owens, who earned four letters as a middle attacker for the Cardinals from 2011-14, recently signed to play for Volejbalovy klub Pribram in the Czech Republic.
