In the context of the Ball State football team's offense, tight ends hold a special place. They're used in a multitude of ways and usually have to be the second-smartest member of the lineup behind the quarterback.
And Friday the Cardinals got a commitment from a new player to fill that role.
Ball State added its fifth verbal commitment of the 2015 class in Kyle Schrank, a tight end from Hamilton Southeastern in Fishers, Ind. He picked Ball State from a set of offers that included Air Force, Eastern Michigan, Lehigh and Western Michigan, tweeting out the news.
