Boilermakers Head to Rich Harvest Farms for NCAA Central Regional
• For the third time in four years, the Purdue men's golf team will compete in the NCAA Regionals, this time heading just west of Chicago and Rich Harvest Fams for the NCAA Central Regional on May 15-17. The Boilermakers are looking for their first NCAA Regional title since 2002 and their first NCAA Championship appearance since the 2005 campaign. Purdue has recorded the third-most NCAA apperances by a Big Ten school at 27 and its 17 top-10 NCAA finishes are the second most behind just Ohio State (20).
• Purdue enters the Central Regional with high hopes, drawing the eighth seed. Purdue owns a 4-6-1 record against teams in the field.
• Four teams competing in the Central Regional are ranked in Golfworld's top 25, where Purdue owns a 6-19-2 record. Against teams ranked 26-50 (where UNLV, Clemson and Kent State are ranked), the Boilermakers are 11-11-3. Against teams ranked 51 and higher, the Boilermakers are 88-10-2.

Purdue Equals Best Finish in Seven Years at Big Ten Championship
• Purdue is coming off a disappointing final 27 holes in the Big Ten Championship two weeks ago, finishing fifth with a 53-over par 1,205, 19 shots off champion Minnesota. The Boilers led the event after 45 holes (+19), but played the final 27 holes in a combined 34-over par to fall off the pace. Nonetheless, the fifth-place finish equaled the program's highest finish since a third-place showing in 2007.
Enzo Perez led the way for the Boilers with a tie for 12th-place finish at 12-over par 300. Coincidentally, Perez finished 17th as a sophomore in 2013 with the exact same score. Freshman Philippe Schweizer was 24th at 16-over par 304. Schweizer was in second place after 36 holes, before falling off the pace. Schweizer finished fourth among Big Ten freshmen.

Youth Being Served on Purdue Roster
• Purdue sports one of the youngest lineups in the Big Ten and is well-positioned to move up in the Big Ten ranks in the near-future. Three of Purdue's top six players are freshmen (Austin Eoff, Philippe Schweizer, Fernando Barco) and two more (junior Enzo Perez and sophomore Stuart Macdonald) will also return for the 2014-15 season.
• Eoff was one of two Big Ten freshmen to earn All-Big Ten honors (Minnesota's Jose Mendez -- Big Ten medalist) and sports the lowest season stroke average for a freshman in Purdue history (73.03 strokes per round), which is also the lowest career average for a Purdue player in school history (at least 30 rounds played).
• Schweizer's scoring average (74.27) is the seventh-lowest for a freshman in school history, while Barco, who joined the program at the semester break in January, showed off his talent with a 26th-place finish in the Boilermaker Invitational late in the season.

Schenk Wrapping Up Remarkable Career
• Senior Adam Schenk is wrapping up a sensational Purdue career and he hopes to lead the Boilermakers to their first NCAA Championship appearance in nine years.
Consider the following:
... ranks second (since 1997) on the Purdue single-season stroke average list (72.24).
... ranks second (since 1997) on the Purdue career stroke average chart (73.30); behind Austin Eoff (73.03).
... ranks second (since 1997) on the Purdue career top-10 finish list (18 in 46 career events).
... had a streak of 13 straight rounds at or under-par from Oct. 27 to April 6, a span of 172 days.
... finished in the top 16 individually in eight of his first nine tournaments of the season.
... fired a opening-round 65 at the USF Invitational, the fourth-best score in school history; his 201 at the event was the second-best score in school history.
