Bolser Goes to Washington in Round Seven of 2014 NFL Draft

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana tight end Ted Bolserwas taken by the Washington Redskins with the second pick of the seventh round (217th) in the 2014 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
He joins wide receiver Cody Latimer, who was selected 56th overall by the Denver Broncos, as the IU football program's two 2014 draft picks.
Bolser is the 11th Hoosier ever picked by the Redskins and the first since quarterback Gibran Hamdan in 2003 (seventh round). The Cincinnati, Ohio, native will be teammates with former Indiana cornerback Tracy Porter(2004-07).
A 2013 team captain and semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, Bolser is IU's all-time tight ends leader with 117 receptions, 1,337 yards and 15 touchdowns. He became the 20th Hoosier to reach 100 catches and 1,000 yards.
Bolser finished his career tied for eighth in TDs, 15th in receptions and 23rd in yardage on the school's career lists. He played in 48 games and started 37 times and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in public affairs management in December 2013.
