Junior Aurora Kan and sophomore Vinh-Hoa Ngo paced the Boilermakers with totals of eight-over, 152, and are just five shots off the lead heading into Sunday.

The Boilermakers finished the first round in third place with a team total of 304, led by Ngo's score of one-over, 73. The Boilermaker sophomore made three birdies in her opening round, and was just one-shot back from the individual leader before heading out for the second 18 of the day. Kan, sophomore Brooke Beegle and freshman Ashley Yarbrough turned in the other three team scores with matching rounds of five-over, 77 to mark the Boilermakers' team score for the opening 18.

Purdue didn't drop much ground after the second round, dropping into a tie for fourth with Kansas at 36-over, 612, sitting 15 shots back from tournament-leading Kent State at 21-over, 597. Kan registered the Boilermakers' top second-round score at three-over, 75, evening her score up with Ngo's as she earned par on 15-of-18 holes. Sophomore Brooke Beegle and junior Johanna Tillström rebounded from tough opening rounds to log the No. 3 and 4 marks for the Boilermakers in Round 2, posting scores of 77 and 78, respectively, with a birdie apiece to set the team total, while Yarbrough matched Tillström at 78.
