Allee Named Missouri Valley Conference Player Of The Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Indiana State senior Morgan Allee has been named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Senior Morgan Allee led the Sycamores in the five games the Sycamores played over the past week going 8-16 at the plate with a .500 batting average with two home runs and two doubles. Allee also recorded eight RBI’s which was one more than the rest of the Sycamores team combined. Already the league leader in stolen bases, Allee stole three bases and moved into the top 15 in career stolen bases in MVC history, despite only playing not even two full seasons. The senior also held a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage at short stop while holding an on base percentage of .529 with two sacrifices.
The award marks the first of Allee's Sycamore career and the second Sycamore to earn the award in three weeks.
Three other Sycamores have earned MVC weekly honors this season with sophomore Taylor Lockwood twice being named MVC Pitcher of the Week while junior Megan Stone has been named Player of the Week and freshman Brooke Riemenschneider was named MVC Newcomer of the Week.
The Sycamores will host Loyola in a doubleheader on Tuesday at Price Field beginning at 2 p.m. It will be Strikeout Cancer day as all fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. Jersey's will also be acutioned off to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
