Indy Eleven Kickoff Week to Ramp Up Excitement for Club’s Inaugural Game

Nine Days of Events Bookended by April 4 th Exhibition vs. Indiana University, Official NASL Opener vs. Carolina RailHawks on April 12 th

If it seems like Indy Eleven Professional Soccer has been everywhere in the past year, just wait until Indy Eleven Kickoff Week, a week-plus celebration of soccer across the Indianapolis area from April 4-12. In the build-up to its Inaugural Game at Michael A. Carroll Stadium at IUPUI on April 12 vs. the Carolina RailHawks, Indy Eleven will host nine straight days of events to get fans ready for professional soccer in the Hoosier State.

Below is the continuing schedule of events for Indy Eleven Kickoff Week; as details for each event are updated they will be posted on the “EVENTS” page at IndyEleven.com and announced via the team’s official Facebook and Twitter homes.

Wednesday, April 9 – Cultural Trail Pub Crawl 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Downtown Indy

Fans are invited to partake in some tasty brews and squeeze in a little hike during the team’s Cultural Trail Pub Crawl, featuring opportunities to pick up Indy Eleven giveaways and meet players at each of the crawl’s three stops – the Tomlinson Tap Room, Front Page and Chatham Tap.  As added bonuses, our friends from Flat 12 Bierwerks will hit up all three locations to help the good times roll from stop to stop, and Indy Eleven will be handing out editions of the latest "lookbook" by Savoir Fare, featuring the gentlemen of Indy Eleven!

A $5-per-person registration fee (CASH ONLY!!!) will be collected as the crawl moves on, with proceeds going towards both the Indianapolis Cultural Trail Fund and the Indiana Soccer Foundation/Indy Eleven futsal court project.

Thursday, April 10 – Lew Wallace Birthday Celebration/Mascot Introduction 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Crawfordsville H.S.

Indy Eleven will head to Crawfordsville High School on Thursday evening to celebrate the 187 th birthday of General Lew Wallace and unveil the team's mascot! Shadow of Shiloh author Gail Stephens will give a lecture focusing on Wallace’s role in key moments in our nation’s history, while Indy Eleven players will meet with fans and enjoy free birthday cake in honor of the man who led the 11 th Infantry Regiment for which the club is named after.

Friday, April 11 – Wear Your Colors Day / Lunchtime Rally, 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Chatham Tap

If it’s the 11 th of the month, you know Indy Eleven will be out and about – especially on the eve of its Inaugural Game!  Indy Eleven will ask all fans to don the red, white & blue of their favorite team on Friday and invites all fans to a high noon rally at the Chatham Tap, located at 719 Massachusetts Ave., to get officially introduced to their checkered-clad heroes that will take the field the following night.

Friday, April 11 – La Plaza Night of the America Dinner 5:45 p.m. at Indy Roof Ballroom

Indy Eleven is proud to sponsor the 10 th edition of La Plaza’s Night of the Americas fundraising dinner, taking place at the Indiana Roof Ballroom beginning at 5:45 p.m. This year’s dinner will feature the culture and food of 2014 FIFA World Cup host country Brazil, with the celebration including cocktails and hors d’Oeuvres, a gourmet Brazilian meal, the presentation of the Hispanic American Service Awards, the La Plaza Scholarship Fund ceremony and some lively Brazilian music to help close things out on the dance floor. Saturday, April 12 – Inaugural Game vs. Carolina RailHawks – 7:30 p.m. at Carroll Stadium

All the build-up will finally pay off at Carroll Stadium on April 12, when Indy Eleven’s Inaugural Game against the Carolina RailHawks will kick off a new era for soccer in the Hoosier State.  A limited number of tickets remain available for this special night of soccer and can be purchased online via the “TICKETS” section of IndyEleven.com or over the phone by calling the Indy Eleven Front Office at 317-685-1100 weekdays from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. ET.
