Gerardot to Play in China with NetScouts USA All-Star Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana women's basketball senior Tabitha Gerardothas been selected to travel to China to play for the USA Women's All-Star Basketball Team organized and coached by NetScouts Basketball. Gerardot will take part in two international basketball tournaments, as she will depart on April 17 with games starting on April 20.
The team consists of 10 college women's basketball players who have completed their eligibility at their respective institutions. The USA All Stars will play a round-robin format in three cities in China for a total of nine games. The team will begin play with three games in Shenzhen, Guangdong against national teams from New Zealand, Denmark and China. They will then go to Nan'an, Fujian Province and later on to Jiangxi Province to play a total of six games against national teams of Australia, Slovenia and China.
Gerardot transferred to Indiana for her senior season after earning her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso in three years. In her four combined years of Division I college basketball (Valparaiso and Indiana), Gerardot finished her career with 1,512 points (11.9 ppg) and 910 rebounds (7.2 rpg). She appeared in 127 career games and started in 122 contests.
During her senior season at Indiana, Gerardot was instrumental in Indiana's success as IU tied a program record for most wins (21) and made its first national postseason tournament appearance in five years as the Hoosiers went to the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The Fort Wayne, Ind., native averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for IU as she appeared in all 34 games and made 31 starts.
NetScouts Basketball organizes and coaches All-Star Men's and Women's teams which represent the United States in international basketball competition. This enables highly successful players who have recently completed their eligibility to represent their country, get an experience playing international basketball and provide an amazing cultural experience.
Gerardot becomes the second Indiana women's basketball player in as many years to earn a spot on a NetScouts Women's All-Star Basketball Team as IU graduate Aulani Sinclairparticipated in the tour of China last summer.
