ANN ARBOR, Mich. As the outright Big Ten champion, the result of Saturday's game had little bearing on Michigan's Big Ten Tournament outlook. Except that it might have set up a rematch with Indiana in six days.
The Hoosiers' 84-80 loss Saturday dropped them to 7-11 in Big Ten play (17-14 overall), meaning they are mathematically eliminated from finishing higher than eighth in the conference.
IU is locked into Thursday's noon game at the Big Ten Tournament, played between the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds.
