SCOUTING THE JAGUARS

IUPUI comes into the game having won one of its last 11 games, with that victory coming last Thursday at home against Denver by a 59-49 score.

In the team's last game, a 71-67 loss to South Dakota, Mitch Patton scored a team-high 16 points, as Elijah Ray scored 12 and Marcellus Barksdale 10. Three others - Donovan Gibbs, Khufu Najee, and P.J. Hubert - each scored nine. Ray and Patton each pulled down six rebounds, while Barksdale gave out six assists.

Patton averages 12.8 points per game, most among players that are currently active for the team, while Najee averages 10.1.

Barksdale leads the team with 185 rebounds and 106 assists, and 33 steals, while having scored 247 points (8.8 per game). Patton is second on the team with a 5.8 rebound per game average, as Gibbs averages 4.8. Patton has a team-best 28 block.

LOOKING GOOD

In the middle of February, CollegeInsider.com put out its Top 100 Sexiest in College Basketball. Listed among the groupings, in no particular order, was IPFW's Tony Jasick.  A few days later MidMajorMadness.com put out its list of 10 Sexiest Mid-Major Basketball coaches, where Jasick topped the list. We're not sure if GQ is in fact calling, but if they do, we can make that work as well.

RECORD ROLLING

IPFW's 19-9 start this season is the fifth-best 28-game record in program history, and is the best in IPFW's NCAA Division I era.

A WINNING PACE

IPFW's 19 wins this season stand as the fourth-most wins in a single-season in program history. The school record for wins is 23, set in 1992-93 by the squad that advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

DON'T CALL IT A COMEBACK

Ok, well, you can call it a comeback if you want - we're just taking the advice of LL Cool J. On January 30, IPFW overcame a 15-point deficit to beat the Omaha Mavericks at home. It tied IPFW's NCAA Division I record for the largest deficit recorded in an IPFW win, tied with a December 10, 2011 game, also against Omaha. The largest comeback in IPFW's Division I history came on January 20, 2011 at North Dakota State where the team had an 18-point deficit and won.

DRAFTED STAR

Former Mastodon standout Frank Gaines was selected with the first pick in the second round by the Maine Red Claws in the 2013 NBA Development League draft. In 29 games with the Red Claws, Gaines is averaging 19.7 points per game, which ranks second on his squad and 11th in the D-League.

RECORDS WATCH

IPFW seniors Luis Jacobo and Michael Kibiloski rank 9th and 10th, respectively in career three-pointers made. Jacobo has 126 while Kibiloski sits at 124 made three-pointers. The next player ahead of the pair is Frank Gaines who has 139. Below are the top-10 all-time in school history in career three-pointers made.
