Aces Swimming & Diving to Participate in Two Meets

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville swimming & diving team will be competing in two meets this upcoming weekend with the first being a dual meet against St. Louis on Jan. 24 in St. Louis at 5:30 p.m. The Aces men's squad will then travel to Fishers, IN to participate in the Butler Invite on Jan. 26 at 12:00 p.m.
When the Aces travel to St. Louis to take on the Billikens on Friday, they will be at full force. The Lady Aces will come in with two-time Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week Danielle Freeman who has been on a tear the last two weeks.
Freeman, has swam exceptionally well, winning three events, the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events against Houston, the 100-yard freestyle against Miami, Ohio, finishing second in one event the 50-yard freestyle against Houston and finishing third in the 100-yard butterfly against Miami, Ohio.
The Aces men's squad will also be looking to continue their success against St. Louis with junior Ashton Bishop leading the way. Bishop won the 50-yard free and finished second in the 100-yard free against Miami, Ohio last week.
For the Billikens, the women's squad brings in Jalynn Gieseke, who ranks third in the A10 conference in the 50-yard freestyle and Zack Billingsley who ranks second in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle.
When the men's squad travels to the Butler Invite they will take on the likes of Green Bay, Ball State, Valparaiso, Illinois State, Youngstown State and Xavier. The meet will be held in Fishers, IN at 12:00 p.m.
Besides Bishop, the Aces will have sophomore Ethan O'Rourke who finished first in the 100-yard backstroke and second in the 200-yard backstroke against Miami, Ohio last weekend.
After these two meets, UE will travel to Carbondale, IL to take on Southern Illinois in a dual meet on Feb. 01.
