Purdue won 18 straight over Michigan from 2000-to-2008, and 21-in-a-row from 1986-to-1997.

The Rankings: Purdue is ranked 22nd by the Associated Press and 19thin the ESPN/USA Today Division I Coaches' Poll. Michigan is unranked.

The Opponent

Michigan enters Wednesday's matchup 11-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play, despite suffering its first Big Ten loss of the season against Michigan State on Sunday in Ann Arbor, 79-72. Second-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico has a balanced scoring attack paced by junior guard Shannon Smith, who leads four double-figure scorers for the Wolverines with 14.7 points per game. Freshman Siera Thompson adds an outside scoring threat, averaging 2.3 triples and 13.9 points per game, while juniors Nicole Elmblad and Cyesha Goree are nearly posting a double-double per game as Elmblad averages 12.6 points and 8.4 rebounds, while Goree chips in 12.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

No Place Like Home

The Boilermakers return home to Mackey Arena for the first time since Dec. 28, after opening Big Ten Conference play with three straight road games for the first time since 1992. Purdue is a perfect 5-0 in Mackey Arena this season, topping opponents by an average of 15.6 points per game.

Second-Chance Living

Purdue has gotten off to an incredible start in conference play on the boards, especially on the offensive end, grabbing over 20 offensive rebounds in each of the last two games and averaging a conference-best 19.7 per game. The Boilermakers' 43.3 rebounds per game in Big Ten play are up 5.6 from their season average, and up 6.4 on the offensive end.

200 Club

Courtney Moses is one three-pointer shy of 200 for her career, looking to become the third player in Purdue history to achieve the mark. 2007 All-American Katie Gearlds holds the Boilermakers' career record with 238 trifectas, while Brittany Rayburn is second with 201.

Raining Threes

The Boilermakers and Wolverines are two of the nation's best teams from behind the arc, both shooting over 40 percent on the year and ranked sixth and eighth in NCAA Division I, respectively. Moses leads Purdue, making 45.9 percent and ranking 12th in the nation, while Michigan freshman Siera Thompson sits 17th in the country, shooting 45.6 percent from behind the arc.

Promotional Material

Wednesday is Purdue's student takeover game, featuring $2 tickets for all Boilermaker students, a halftime Big Ten Tournament ticket giveaway and points toward the Purdue residence hall cup.
