The Series: Purdue is 2-1 all-time against Kansas, winning both matchups in Mackey Arena, while falling in Allen Fieldhouse to the 17th-ranked Jayhawks, 71-61, in 1996. The Boilermakers won the last meeting between the two squads, earning a 55-41 NCAA Second-Round victory en route to the 1999 NCAA Championship.
The Rankings: Purdue is ranked 18th by the Associated Press and 23rd in the ESPN/USA Today Division I Coaches' Poll. Kansas is unranked.
Kansas enters Sunday's matchup at 5-4, fresh off a 105-78 victory over visiting Texas Southern on Thursday. The Jayhawks are led by junior forward Chelsea Gardner, who heads into the weekend averaging 16.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game after pouring in a career-high 30 points on 13-for-16 shooting against the Tigers. She's ranked in the top-20 in the NCAA in field goal percentage, making 61.3 percent of her attempts on the season. Other standouts for Kansas and head coach Bonnie Henrickson include Asia Boyd and CeCe Harper, as Boyd is averaging 12.2 points per game, while Harper is averaging nearly 10 points and four assists per game.
