BSw RANKINGS: Chesterton, Carmel, Northridge 1-2-3 in preseason poll

The Indiana High School Swim Coaches’ Association has released its preseason poll for the 2012-13 boys swimming season, and 2008 and 2009 state champion Chesterton opens with a narrow lead over three-time defending champ Carmel.

The Trojans and Greyhounds pace a preseason first five rounded out by Northridge, five-time state champ North Central (Indianapolis) and 10-time champion Columbus North. The rest of the Top 10 consists of three-time state champ (and two-time defending state runner-up) Bloomington South, Center Grove, South Bend St. Joseph's, Hamilton Southeastern, and Valparaiso

The rankings are made up by scoring a theoretical 16-place meet using the times/scores of the returning Top 18 individual event times from last year’s sectionals and state finals (as well as the fastest reported times of this season upon its start).

Teams are listed by ranking followed by school and vote total. The IHSSCA’s preseason Top 52:
