Here are results from the sectional round of the 19th Annual IHSAA Girls Soccer State Tournament, courtesy of ihsaa.org and a lotta typing by yours truly:

Dates: Monday, Oct. 1; Tuesday, Oct. 2; Thursday, Oct. 4; Saturday, Oct. 6

Admission: $6 per session, $9 all sessions
About the draw: To conduct the random drawing for the state tournament, the IHSAA places ping-pong balls representing each school in a given sectional into a lottery-style, air-mix machine. A motorized fan in the bottom of the machine blows the balls around the inside of the transparent container, and air then forces each ball up through a tube in random order. For example, the first ball retrieved from the machine will be the visiting team in Game 1, with the second ball representing the home team in Game 1. The third ball to come out is the visitor in Game 2, and the fourth ball the home team in Game 2. That same method is followed through all sectionals, regionals, and semistates to determine every team’s placement in the bracket.
