- Indianapolis Chatard: The 3A No. 3 defending state runner-up Trojans just beat perennial power Roncalli and were to tackle 3A No. 7 Brebeuf on Sept. 12.
- Fairfield and New Prairie: The sixth-ranked Falcons and No. 9 Cougars are creeping up the 3A poll.
- Wapahani: The 2A defending state champ Raiders and their rigorous schedule have fallen from the top spot, having been replaced by Providence.
- Cowan: The Blackhawks have moved into the top spot in Class A after having defeated 1A third-ranked Barr-Reeve and 1A No. 4 defending state champion Wes-Del.
- Middle hitters: The duo discusses seniors Allison Hammond of Springs Valley and Jazzmine McDonald of Indianapolis Cathedral (both Indiana University recruits), Carmel’s Lauren Pitz (Georgia Tech), Westfield’s Brooke Kranda (Michigan State), and Penn junior Ally Schneider.
