The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association finally has released its initial set of girls soccer rankings for Class A (the state’s smallest grouping of soccer-playing schools) for the 2012 season, and Fort Wayne Canterbury “begins” the year at No. 1.

The Cavaliers are followed in the Top 10 by Indianapolis Chatard, defending 1A state champion Providence, Lawrenceburg, Mishawaka Marian, Fort Wayne Luers, West Lafayette, Heritage Hills, Gibson Southern, and Hamilton Heights.

The first ISCA poll for Class A (from Aug. 28):
