Saturday, Aug. 11
WESTERN INVITE @ Chippendale GC
Third-ranked Hamilton Southeastern places three in the Top 10 en route to a 309 and an eight-stroke team title win over No. 4 Noblesville, with fifth-ranked Penn (330) third, No. 12 Lafayette Jefferson (336) fourth, and No. 13 Center Grove tied for fifth with Marion at 340 in this 18-school event.

Mary Ellen (Romero, a third-place 73), Kat (Leighty, an eighth-place 76), and Marissa Holliday (tied for 10th at 79) helped the two-time defending state champion to its lowest team score in memory at Chippendale, according to HSE coach Steve Guenin, while Ciara McAree and Mia DelPrince added solid rounds of 81 and 83, respectively.

“A highlight was Marissa's 97-yard gap wedge that found the bottom of the cup on No. 17 for an ace,” Guenin said. “This was the first HSE competitive hole-in-one at least since 2000.”

Richmond nails down two of the first three spots on ist way to a 331 and a seven-stroke victory over Guerin Catholic, with Plainfield (354) third, Brownsburg (363) fourth, and the host Giants (374) fifth in this nine-school event.

Richmond’s Erin Ingram fires a 73 to top Lucy Stevens of Guerin Catholic by five shots for medalist honors.
