The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association has released its fifth set of polls for the 2012 season, and we find that Class A Lafayette Central Catholic is the only top-ranked team to maintain its place at No. 1 in a week full of turnover.

Sort of.

Class 4A Zionsville swaps spots with Lake Central in moving from second to first, 3A Jasper supplants now-No. 4 Silver Creek in rising from second to first, 2A Park Tudor jumps from fourth to first in taking over for now-No. 5 Union County, and Central Catholic now shares the 1A top spot with up-from-second Shakamak.

Elsewhere among the Top 10s …

  • 4A: New Albany noses up from seventh to fifth, still-unbeaten Columbus North climbs from eighth to sixth, Elkhart Central ascends from ninth to seventh, Crown Point climbs from 13th to ninth, and Fishers finally enters the Top 10 in going from 12th to 10th.
  • 3A: Andrean ascends from fifth to second, North Harrison hops from sixth to third, West Lafayette flies from 15th to sixth, and Corydon rises from the unranked to ninth.
  • 2A: Delphi leaps from seventh to second, Wheeler moves up from sixth to fourth, Clinton Central climbs from unranked to eighth, Adams Central does likewise in moving clear to ninth, and Southridge slides up from 12th to 10th.
  • 1A: Loogootee leaps from seventh to third, South Central (Elizabeth) swaps spots with Morgan Township in moving from fifth to fourth, Cowan climbs from eighth to seventh, Rising Sun rises from ninth to eighth, and Vincennes Rivet ribbets up from 15th to 10th.
