BT&F: #1 Ben Davis defeats #6 Warren Central, 75-57

Top-ranked Ben Davis won four of five field events and eight of 16 overall April 11 in a 75-57 Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference boys track & field dual meet win over visiting No. 6 Warren Central.

The victorious Giants took two of three relays, including a :42.66 in the 4x100 meter relay that was just one-hundredths of a second off its state-best time, and dominated the field events by taking 11 of the top 15 finishes. Ben Davis also got on-the-track wins from senior Justin Garrett (:11.29 in the 100 meters), senior Christian Black (:22.79 in the 200).

The four field winners were senior Tim Colbert (48’6” in the shot put), senior Anthony Stella (21’0” in the long jump), senior Alex Rowe (6’2” in the high jump), and sophomore Moussa Conde, whose 13’6” in the pole vault paced a 1-2-3 BD sweep.

Warren Central, meanwhile, had a pair of double winners in Reggie Smith and Cody Stone. Smith won the 110-meter hurdles in :14.92 and the 300 hurdles in :40.69, while Stone captured the 1600 (4:40) and the 3200 (10:11.70).
