BB REGIONALS: Results

The semifinal round of the March 10 boys basketball semistates turned into Upset City as five major outcomes ended in surprise:

  • In Class 4A, No. 2 Pendleton Heights fell 46-43 in overtime to unranked Terre Haute North, No. 5 Lake Central was toppled 76-72 by unranked South Bend Adams, and No. 12 Jeffersonville got nipped 35-34 by unranked Bloomington South.
  • In 3A, top-ranked and undefeated Greensburg got ousted 64-57 by No. 8 Brownstown while No. 2 Muncie Central was eliminated 63-58 by No. 4 Norwell.
  • In 2A, No. 13 Adams Central lost 51-49 in OT to unranked Westview.
  • In Class A, third-ranked Borden got bounced 68-48 by No. 10 Orleans.


The finals, meanwhile, were another story as 11 of the 14 ranked favorites were victorious. The upsets:

  • 3A: No. 7 Mishawaka Marian's 82-62 pasting of third-ranked Andrean
  • 2A: No. 11 Providence's 46-43 surprise of second-ranked Eastern Greene
  • 1A: No. 9 Fort Wayne Canterbury's double-OT 64-62 upset of No. 5 host Triton

Site: Bankers Life Fieldhouse (formerly Conseco Fieldhouse), 125 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis
Admission: Session $15, season $25
Reserved single-session tickets may be purchased at the participating schools the week of the state finals (contact participating schools for ticket-distribution hours). Any remaining tickets will be available game day at the ticket office at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
Home team: The winners of the north semistates will be the designated home teams.
Television: All four state championship games will be televised live throughout the state on the IHSAA Champions Television Network.
Radio: The IHSAA Championship Radio Network will broadcast all four games to affiliates statewide. 

SESSION I
Class A State Championship: 10:30 a.m.
Class 2A State Championship: Follows Class A game

SESSION II
Class 3A State Championship: 6 p.m.
Class 4A State Championship: Follows Class 3A game
