DUNELAND ATHLETIC CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT @ Valparaiso
Fourth-ranked Merrillville crowned eight champions and one runner-up finish in totaling 252.5 points to shock No. 2 Crown Point (240 points, four champs and four seconds) for the team title at this eight-school event. Six of the Pirates’ eight champs are ranked in the state’s Top 16s.
Top-ranked Tyler Kral of Crown Point decisioned No. 3 Gelen Robinson of Lake Central, 3-1, at 220 in the day’s marquee matchup. The Bulldogs competed without coach Scott Vlink, who missed the meet after being ejected from a dual meet earlier in the week with Michigan City.

CONFERENCE INDIANA TOURNAMENT @ Perry Meridian
Top-ranked defending state champion Perry Meridian continued its season-long dominance by capturing 11 of 14 individual titles and winning its 11th consecutive conference crown and 13th in the last 15 with 309 points, easily enough to outduel No. 11 Bloomington South (234) for the team title.
Six champions were repeat winners for coach Jim Tonte’s Falcons: 126-pound Cody LeCount (112 last year), 132 Jared McKinley (defending state champ at 125), 138 Nick Bova (130), 160 Kirk Johnson (152), 170 Jake Masengale (171), and 220 Jordan Naughton (285). The other five Perry champs were 106 Jacob Cottey, 113 Brandon James, 145 Riley McClurg, 182 C.J. Martin, and 285 Donte Winfield.
The other three winners on the day were Franklin Central junior Andrice Martin at 120, Bloomington South senior Ethan Farmer at 152, and Bloomington South sophomore Dakota Thacker at 195.
