Quality Education beats St. Marks in 2OTJanuary 3, 2010 Hoops in Overdrive Shoot-OutFor those looking to get home from the tourney as early as possible on Saturday, night, plans had to be altered slightly. The end of regulation was not enough to decide the St. Marks vs. Quality Education matchup - neither was OT. It took 2 overtime periods for Quality Ed. to come out on top, 83-76. St, Marks started off a little shaky on offense, but defensively, their zone gave Quality Ed. some problems early on. Regardless of how they start, St. Marks never gets too flustered to bear down and turn a game around. They don't talk trash; they don't argue amongst each other. They just tighten up and get where they need to be. Tonight, it was on the offensive glass where #1 M. Basae and #34 Nate Lubick went to work. Quality Ed. did a good job of contesting every shot so offensive rebounds and strong putbacks were key to St. Marks pushing QUality Ed. to the limit. In double overtime, Quality Ed. was able to use its depth, speed, and stamina to do enough to pull ahead and finish the game off by a score of 83-76.
