Home » Boys' Basketball NewsGirls, boys hoop teams win openerNovember 28, 2012 Holden High Schoolby Dusty Chamberlain Newspaper Class The Holden Lady Eagles soared over Van Horn last night with a score of 66-7 in the first round of the SCA Tourney in Lee's Summit. The Lady Eagles were led by returning All-Conference senior Haleigh Wood. She along with All-Conference returner Taylor Anderson scored a quarter of the teams points. Many freshmen and sophomores got to play along with the rest of the team. The Lady Eagles are a young team with high hopes and we will see what the season brings. The Holden Eagles Boys' Basketball team is 1-0 with a win over Metro Academy with a score of 66-65 in the tourney. The Eagles team had a very strong outing in the beginning; going up by as much as 12 points before fouls and free throws let Metro Academy back into the game. Senior Matt Borgen led the team with 20 points. 6’5 Junior Sam Lairson took over the game in the fourth quarter and finished with 17. Coleman Anstine also finished in double figures with 15 points.
