Eastern Hancock 47, Greenfield-Central 45: The Royals outscored Greenfield-Central 12-5 in the fourth quarter to pull out a close victory.

G-C had two chances to tie the game in the final 30 seconds, but neither was able to drop for the Cougars.

EH's victory avenged an overtime loss to the Cougars in the county tournament on Dec. 29. The two teams' games this season were decided by a total of three points.

Victor Vincz scored 17 points to lead the Royals, while Isaiah McCormick added 13 points.

Tate Hall scored 19 points to lead the Cougars, who led 25-20 late in the first half, but saw EH tie things up at the break. G-C held a lead for much of the third quarter, until EH tied the game and then took the lead at 47-45 on a pair of free throws in the final three minutes.

EH has won two straight and is now 4-10 on the season. The Royals next play Tri at home on Friday night, which will be broadcast at HancockCountySports.com. G-C fell to 2-11 and will host Delta and Greenwood next weekend.

Mt. Vernon 76, Delta 37: The 3A No. 1 Marauders stayed perfect on the year with a rout of Delta.

Stephen Turner scored 30 points to lead the Marauders, while C.J. Coleman added 19. It was MV's biggest victory since beating Knightstown 67-21 on Jan. 19, 2012.

MV is now 14-0 overall and 5-0 in the HHC, tied with New Palestine for the conference lead. The Marauders' next three games will be out-of-conference games at home -- Saturday against Noblesville, Feb. 7 against Muncie Burris and the afternoon of Feb. 9 against Lawrence Central. All of MV's remaining games will be broadcast at HancockCountySports.com.

Eastern Hancock 70, Hauser 40: Kiersten Schrope posted a basketball rarity -- a quadruple-double -- in leading the Royals to a Mid-Hoosier Conference victory.

Schrope had 10 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists and tied a school record with 11 steals to help lead the Royals to their 15th victory of the season. Hannah Best led EH in scoring with 25 points, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range.

EH had 35 steals as a team today, setting a school record.

Kaytlin Eastes, playing her final home game as EH's lone senior, had 13 points and four boards. Peyton Neisler added nine points. Alora Marshall had eight steals, four rebounds and two blocked shots. Lauren Harmon had five steals.

EH is now 15-4 on the season and finished the home portion of its schedule with a 9-0 record. It's the Royals' first 15-win season since the 2002-03 team went 16-7, and the first 15-win regular season since 2001-02, when the Royals went 16-3 during the season campaign and 18-4 overall. EH also finished Mid-Hoosier Conference play 6-2, good for at least third place. The Royals would finish in a second-place tie if Southwestern (Shelby) beats North Decatur Monday night.

EH, which has won five straight and 11 of its last 12, concludes the regular season Thursday at Centerville.

Mt. Vernon 49, Delta 11: The Marauders won their 27th consecutive Hoosier Heritage Conference game, and their third straight HHC title, with an emphatic victory over Delta.

Sydney Shelton had 20 points to lead the Marauders. It was their best defensive game since an 89-10 win over Howe in the 2012 sectional.

The Marauders are 16-3 on the season and finish HHC play with a 7-0 mark. They conclude the regular season Friday night at North Central, the defending 4A state champion, in a matchup of 2012 state finalists.
