Monday wrap: Royal girls win big

Kiersten Schrope had 26 points and Kaytlin Eastes added a double-double to lead Eastern Hancock to a 72-50 girls basketball victory over Edinburgh Monday night.
The Royals improved to 11-4 on the year and 3-2 in Mid-Hoosier Conference play. Host Edinburgh is now 2-10/0-4.
Schrope hit 9-of-19 from the floor and 8-of-12 from the line to amass her 26 points. She also had eight rebounds and eight steals.
Eastes hit 6-of-8 from the line en route to her 12 points. She also had 13 rebounds and six steals. Kristen Eischen had nine points and eight boards, and Shelby Mourey had eight points. Peyton Neisler had 10 rebounds. EH amassed 28 steals in the game and hit 23-of-36 from the line.
The Royals led 7-4 after a quarter and 24-19 at half. They pulled away gradually in the third to take a 44-32 lead going into the final eight minutes, in which they scored 28 points.
EH next plays Thursday at home against Morristown in an MHC game.
