Thursday hoops wrap: Marauders win at Bankers Life

Mt. Vernon 55, Western Boone 41: The seventh-ranked Marauders led from wire-to-wire, using a 10-1 run to start the second quarter to build a double-digit lead, and a 9-2 run to start the third to put the game away in a victory over Western Boone.
Sydney Shelton scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Marauders, including a 3-pointer to start the second half that put MV up 27-19 and set the tone for the final 16 minutes. Shelton then scored eight fourth-quarter points.
Erica Moore had eight of MV's first 10 points and finished with 19. Rachel Houck scored seven of her 10 points in the fourth quarter, including a key 3-pointer.
WeBo was led by 6-2 center Emily Harrison, who had 10 points. Taylor Vanderpool had nine points off the bench. Baylee Mitchell scored eight.
MV is now 11-2 on the year heading into Saturday's home game against Noblesville. Western Boone is now 10-5.
Lebanon 63, Greenfield-Central 40: The Cougars fell to the fourth-ranked Tigers on the road in a make-up game.
Regan Lewis had 12 points and Sara Jones eight to lead the Cougars. Sarah Spolyar had 23 points and Allison Curtis 19 to lead Lebanon.
G-C is now 4-9 on the season, while Lebanon improved to 12-2 on the season.
The Cougars next play Saturday afternoon at home against Delta.
