Saturday wrestling roundup: Dragons, Royals have good days

New Palestine wins at New Castle: New Palestine posted another 5-0 Saturday, this time at the New Castle 6-way Invitational.
NP had two shutouts -- of both Whiteland and Charlestown -- and outscored its foes 371-27. NP beat Pendleton Heights 51-15, Charlestown 83-0, Franklin County 75-6, Whiteland 81-0 and Elwood 78-6.
Willie Bryan, Tommy Cash, Robby Elsea, Taylor Fee, Noah Grable, Logan Hunt, Rylan McCarty, C.J. Red, Jared Timberman and Brian Wagner all went 5-0 on the day with five falls. Gordon Wagner had a 5-0 day, as well. Elsea had the fastest fall, in nine seconds.
The Dragons next compete Saturday at the Columbus North Invitational.
EH second at Cambridge City: The Royals had a strong day at the Cambridge City Lincoln Invitational, finishing second.
Mt. Vernon goes 1-4 at Westfield: Mt. Vernon won its final match at the Westfield Duals to finish 15th in the invitational.
The Marauders beat Speedway 42-30 in their final match. They had a narrow 39-36 defeat to Shelbyville in their second-to-last match.
MV also fell to Terre Haute South (68-9), Lebanon (72-9) and Westfield (64-12).
