New Palestine 2nd in 3-way

New Palestine's girls swim team was second in a three-way meet Monday with Rushville and Pendleton Heights.
PH won with 147 points. NP had 138, Rushville tallied 35.
Winners for NP were Emily Trimpe in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, Erin Trimpe in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay team of Megan Prosser, Emily Trimpe, Addison Virt and Katie Mustard.
Placing second for the Dragons were the 200 medley relay team of Lily Horn, Erin Trimpe, Claire Hornsby and Rachel Wineman, clinching a 1-2 finish in that event. Also finishing second were Virt in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Shannon Jones in diving, Hornsby in the 100 butterfly, Erin Trimpe in the 500 freestyle, the 200 free relay team of Wineman, Prosser, Virt and Alex Jacobs, and the 400 free relay team of Emily Trimpe, Mustard, Kenzie Wells and Erin Trimpe.
The Dragons next compete Nov. 29 at Yorktown in a combined boys/girls meet. It will be the season opener for the NPHS boys team.
