Greenfield-Central's girls soccer team fell to Warren Central by a 4-1 score in Wednesday's Class 2A regional semifinal at Shelbyville.

The Cougars drew first blood when Sammie McCoy scored on a rebound in the first 10 minutes, but WC was able to take the lead by halftime and added two insurance goals in the second half.

G-C finishes the season with an 11-7 mark and the school's first sectional championship since 2005. WC is now 13-6-1. The Warriors will face fellow MIC rival Center Grove (13-4-2) in the regional title game at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

Mt. Vernon will host the boys soccer regional Thursday, with Warren Central meeting Center Grove in the opening game at 5:30 p.m., and MV hosting Southport in the 7:15 p.m. semifinal. HancockCountySports.com will broadcast the MV-Southport game.
