CC roundup: Royals win MHC title, G-C 3rd at Horizon

Royals win MHC meet: Eastern Hancock's girls continued their fine season by winning the Mid-Hoosier Conference championship.

EH won in its first trip to the conference meet, held at the Edinburgh Horse Park, which will give the Royals a title heading into Tuesday's New Palestine sectional.

EH junior Kiersten Schrope added a conference championship to her resume by winning the individual title.

The Royal boys ran an incomplete team.

Cougars 3rd at Horizon: Greenfield-Central's boys finished third at the Horizon Christian Invitational.

G-C ran primarily its JV runners at the invitational. Chase VanHalen finished sixth to lead the Cougars, running the 5K in 19:12. Chet Graham was 14th, Austyn Tift 15th, Adam Ruff 19th and Brandon Bowmer 36th. Lighthouse Christian and Guerin Catholic finished 1-2.

The Cougars only competed in the boys race.
