BA: Marauders fall in sectional semi

Mt. Vernon dropped a 6-2 decision to Guerin Catholic in Saturday's Brebeuf sectional semifinal game.

Guerin scored three runs in the fourth to break open what had been a 2-1 game and turn it into a 5-1 edge. MV scored in the bottom of the fourth, but the Golden Eagles answered with another run in the fifth.

Guerin outhit MV 11-5, with the Marauders getting five hits off starter Connor Robinson. Jake Mills started the game and took the loss for MV before yielding to Seth Gorhing.

The Marauders' season finished at 10-16.

The rest of the county will continue sectional semifinal play Monday: Eastern Hancock faces Union County at Centerville; Greenfield-Central meets New Castle at Pendleton Heights; and New Palestine meets Franklin at Whiteland.
