Elwood 12, Mt. Vernon 10: The host Panthers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win a wild Wednesday game over MV.

MV built a 6-0 lead going into the bottom of the third, but Elwood answered with an eight-run third inning to take the lead. After Elwood added another run in the fourth, MV tied the game back up with its third three-run inning of the game in the top of the fifth.

The Marauders scored the go-ahead run in the sixth, but Elwood answered in the bottom of the inning, and Dakin Uptegraff -- Elwood's third pitcher, who pitched the last 2 1/3 innings of the game -- held MV scoreless in the seventh to end the game.

MV is now 9-13 on the year. Elwood is 9-16. MV travels to HHC co-leader Pendleton Heights for a Friday doubleheader, then visits Whiteland Monday to close out the season.

Franklin Central 7, Greenfield-Central 5: The Cougars dropped a close game to the Flashes at Molinder Field.

G-C fell to 13-10 on the season heading into the final weekend. The Cougars will host Yorktown for a doubleheader Friday, then host Pike in the regular season finale Monday.

New Palestine adds game: New Palestine rescheduled its game at Fishers to be played Monday, May 23. The HHC co-leader Dragons were initially slated to finish the season Friday at home against Rushville. That doubleheader will be the Dragons' Senior Night, and they'll then close out the year Monday.
