Home » Girls' Basketball NewsTieman Academic All-State, 8 others honorable mentionApril 3, 2012 Hancock County SportsNew Palestine senior Lauren Tieman was named first-team Academic All-State by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association on Monday. Tieman started all 22 games for the Dragons this season and was a key part of the team's success, both in the classroom and on the court. She plans to take her studies to Butler University in the fall. She was one of four New Palestine girls players, and six Dragons overall, to be named to the IBCA teams. Also on the IBCA girls honorable mention list were Tieman's New Palestine teammates Emily Curry, Bethany Murrell and Abby Seifert, as well as Greenfield-Central guard LaRae Cruz and Mt. Vernon forward Anna Olson. Three Hancock County boys were named honorable mention Academic All-State: Reid Clark and Brandon Collins of New Palestine and Alex Payne of Mt. Vernon.
