Home » Boys' Basketball NewsHornets must rely on Senior experience in District playFebruary 20, 2012 By Taylor Wall of Hancock County High SchoolAsk almost any coach (especially Coach Calipari) and I would venture to say they would prefer experience over talent when it comes to postseason tournaments. Fortunately for the Hancock County Hornets, they have five seniors who can mentor and lead their younger teammates during the boys 11th District Tournament beginning tomorrow night at Meade County High School. Although Meade swept the regular season series against the Hornets, records are now disregarded and everyone has a fresh start at 0-0. Meade County has proved to be a dominant force in the 11th District over the past several years, but just like March Madness, you can never know what to expect in the world of sports. With a senior-laden Hancock squad, remaining calm and confident through tough times can propel teams to do extraordinary things. Come out and support your Hancock County Hornets as they compete against the Meade County Green Wave on Tuesday, February 21 at 7PM.
