Home » Middle School Basketball NewsMS GIRLS update from Dec. 10December 12, 2011 Hallsville High Schoolfrom Girls 8th grade Coach Erin Snelling
The 8th grade girls hosted Westran Saturday morning and gained another victory winning 32-15. Brooke Alley led the team with 11 points and Aimee Cobb added 10 points. This puts our record at 8-4. The girls play again tonight in Ashland at 6pm (in their high school gym).
from Girls 7th grade Coach Josh Lancaster On Saturday morning, the girls hosted the Westran Hornets and came out on the wrong side of a 21-18 ballgame. Even though we scored 18 points, it was our best offensive game of the season. It may sound strange saying that, but the girls spaced the floor well, they moved the ball well with the pass, and we got the shots we wanted to get all game. We just struggled putting the ball in the basket. And then coach had a letdown when we stole the ball with 2 seconds left down 3, I didn't call the timeout I needed to set up a play for the game tying shot. I was proud of the girls for seeing the improvement in our offensive movement and execution from where we were early in the season. We played well enough and probably should have won, we just didn't do the little things necessary in making our shots and free throws to get it done. We play again tonight at 6:00 pm at Southern Boone Middle School versus the host Southern Boone Eagles.
Thanks for the continued support!
