Triangular match at Salisbury

March 25, 2011
Hallsville High School

From Coach Josh Lancaster:
The Hallsville boys golf team competed in a triangular match on a sunny, but cold Thursday in Salisbury against the host Salisbury Panthers and the Harrisburg Bulldogs. The Indians came away with a split, as Salisbury recorded a team score of 171, followed by Hallsville's 203, and Harrisburg's 227. Our team score marked a 14 stroke improvement over our team score on Tuesday.

Individually, medalist for the match was Joe Weimer of Salisbury who carded an even par 35. Runner-up was Hallsville's Stephen Dupre who carded a 43, 3 strokes better than his score on Tuesday.

Varsity Individual Scores:

Matt Thunhorst 46 - new personal match best score & the first time he's scored below a 50 in a match in his career

Zach Bequette - 52 (4 strokes better than Tuesday)

William Pieper - 62

Ben Dupre - 62

We were also the only team to bring enough golfers for to record a JV score as Salisbury had only 3 JV golfers. The JV recorded a team score of 279. For many having only played a few times, I think the cold seemed to get to them a little bit so our scores weren't what we wanted. But each of them still did some good things yesterday that we look to build off of.

JV Individual Score:

KC Stoddard - 63

Corey Bradshaw - 73

Michael Culwell - 77

Seth Kelley - 66

We will be off next week for spring break and will return to action on Monday April 4 against Westran at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly, MO.

Thanks for the support!

Coach Lancaster
