Indians beat Thunderbirds for 3rd place at Fulton

Nathan Goett hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to spark the Hallsville baseball team to a 9-5 victory over North Callaway in the third-place game of the Fulton Tournament.

Derrek Trickel had a pair of doubles and three RBI and Shawn Loudon had two doubles, two RBI and two runs for the Indians (10-8).

CJ Ashburn allowed one earned run on eight hits and three walks while striking out four in the complete-game victory.

Nate Van Boening took the loss after allowing five earned runs on seven hits while striking out five. Van Boening had a grand slam, Paul Zerr had a pair of doubles and Wyatt Branson had a double for the Thunderbirds.
