Basketball - gold medal for hoopsters

March 19, 2014
Hallsville High School

Our 3-on-3 basketball team traveled to Columbia last night to play in our final tournament of the year.  Our first game was against the Columbia All-Stars.  We came out a little sluggish in the first game, struggling to get the rebounds or to get our shots to drop.  The All-Stars, true to their name, had some hot hands and pulled away with a 12-4 win.

Our second game was against the Mid-Mo Baskethounds and gave us a shot at redemption.  First game jitters were gone, evident by our much better effort at rebounding and passing.  We had been taking some good shots throughout the evening, but now they were falling through the hoop.  Even though the Baskethounds made a good run to get back in the game we were able to pull out the 14-8 win for a gold medal in the Consolation game.

Please congratulate Renick Gallup, Shelby Smith, Tyrese Phillips, Lukas Shelley, and Austin Sobba when you see them.

Coach John Williams
