JV Boys finish season strong with Win over Harrisburg
February 15, 2013Hallsville High School
from JV Coach Jordan Carmack
Last night the JV Indians hosted the Bulldogs of Harrisburg in our last game of the JV season. It was a game that all the boys wanted to win very badly after coming off two consecutive losses and it showed very clearly from the opening tip that they wanted it. The game started off fast and the pace of the game never really changed from there. The Indians first half defense was relentless as they forced many turnovers that led to easy baskets and really made the Bulldogs work for anything they got.
The first half was highlighted by a shooting barrage by Evann Sells who had 20 first half points to lead us into half with a 34-23 advantage. The second half saw much of the same as the first including the shooting barrage by Sells. The Indians were able to put the Bulldogs away and close the season with a great victory, 59-42.
We were led in scoring by Evann Sells, who after the 20 first half point came out in the second to score 14 more and finish the game with 34 points. Tracy Fulton also chipped in with 9 points to help lead the Indians to victory.
Our JV season is now in the books with a final record of 14-5. The boys all worked really hard this year and there are going to be some exciting years to come for Hallsville basketball as these kids continue to get better. I want to personally thank everyone for all of their support this year and hope to see everyone at the rest of the Varsity games this year!
Don't forget to catch the Varsity Indians in action tonight as they host the same Harrisburg Bulldogs in a Varsity double header with the girls set to tip at 6 p.m.. We will also be honoring our seniors tonight in their last regular season home game as a Hallsville Indian. I hope to see everyone there to help support these great kids and our Hallsville Indians!
Once again thanks for the support and Go Indians!
